When should you seek medical care for earwax blockage?

ANSWER

See your doctor if you think if your ear canal is plugged with earwax. Other conditions may cause these symptoms and you need to be sure earwax is the problem before trying any home remedies.

Go to the hospital if:

  • You have a severe spinning sensation, loss of balance, or inability to walk
  • You have persistent vomiting or high fever
  • You notice sudden loss of hearing
