Will My Child Outgrow Their Allergies?

Medically Reviewed by Renee A. Alli, MD on May 31, 2021

It depends on what they are allergic to. Most kids don’t outgrow seasonal allergies, or hay fever. But some do outgrow food allergies to milk, eggs, or soy. A lower number -- about 20% -- outgrows a peanut allergy. A still smaller number -- 9% -- outgrows a treenut allergy. Talk to your doctor about it.
