What are food allergens?

ANSWER

They're the things that trigger your food allergy. Food allergens are proteins within the food. Usually, they don't break down from the heat of cooking, stomach acids, or digestive enzymes. As a result, they survive cross out of the gut, enter the bloodstream, and go on to cause allergic reactions throughout the body.
