Also, methotrexate and Imuran can damage the liver, and Cytoxan can damage the urinary bladder lining and cause bleeding. Cytoxan can cause lung damage, hair loss, and sterility. Methotrexate can also damage the lungs.

  • Anemia, or a low red blood cell count
  • Leukopenia/neutropenia, or a low white blood cell count, which may lessen your ability to fight infection
  • Thrombocytopenia, or low platelet count, which may impair blood clotting
