What causes post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome?

ANSWER

Doctors still aren’t sure why some people get post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome (PTLDS). Some think that getting Lyme disease may harm your tissues or immune system. Others believe it’s because the bacteria that causes Lyme disease hasn’t completely left your body.
