[MUSIC PLAYING] AREFA CASSOOBHOY: No single superfood is going to relieve arthritis pain. But an anti-inflammatory diet, like the Mediterranean diet, will improve your overall health and get your body ready to fight your illnesses.
I like this diet. It's full of fruits and veggies-- so lots of berries and greens that are rich with antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins. This is a diet strong in protein and fiber, as well-- so lots of nuts, seeds, beans, and lentils.
If part of your arthritis diet plan is to lose weight, this a good diet for that, too. This is also a diet that cuts out processed foods-- so no chips, crackers, or cookies. And that really eliminates unhealthy ingredients from entering your body.
