How is asthmatic bronchitis diagnosed?

ANSWER

Your doctor will ask about your symptoms and medical history and do a physical exam. They also may recommend some tests:

  • Spirometry. A test that measures lung function as you breathe in and out.
  • Peak expiratory flow. A test that measures the force of air you breathe out.
  • Chest X-ray. Images of your chest can help rule out other conditions that could be causing your cough and breathing problems.
