If you have mold and mildew allergies:

  • Air out damp, humid areas frequently.
  • Use air conditioners when possible.
  • Clean bathrooms regularly, and don’t carpet the bathroom.
  • Avoid sources of outdoor molds, like wet leaves or garden debris.
  • To clean mold, use a solution of 5% bleach and a little detergent.
  • Avoid areas where molds may collect.
  • Air out damp clothes and shoes (in the house) before storing.
  • Don't leave wet clothes in the washer.
  • Store firewood outside.
