What are common heartburn symptoms reported by pregnant women?

ANSWER

Heartburn is when stomach acids irritate your esophagus. About half of pregnant women get it. Their common symptoms include:

  • A burning feeling in the chest after eating that lasts a few minutes to several hours
  • Chest pain, especially after bending over, lying down, or eating
  • Burning in the back of the throat
  • Belching
  • Long-term coughing
  • Hoarseness
  • Wheezing or other asthma-like symptoms
