What is recovery like after breast implant surgery?

ANSWER

Your breasts will be covered with gauze after the augmentation procedure. You may have drainage tubes, which will be taken out in a few days. You may need to wear a surgical bra as you heal and take it easy for a few days. You should avoid heavy lifting for up to 6 weeks after getting your implants. You may take over-the-counter pain relievers as needed. Your doctor may also prescribe pain med. Expect some swelling in the area of the surgery. Over time, the swelling should ease and the scars will fade.
