NarratorCan facial surgery be done at the same time as a chemical peel?
Robert Kotler, MDWe know that to reduce the risk of poor healing or scarring or skin breakdown, that it's generally not wise to operate, meaning do a face lift and slide the skin around and at the same time, assault the outer part of the skin with a chemical or a laser. It just is too much for the skin. So, the favored approach is to just do the procedures separately, usually 3 to 4 months apart. The order often is optional or a matter of choice for the patient, chemical first, or laser first, surgery later, or visa versa. Don't do them at the same time, because the rule is don't take chances.
