Dana Manning, PharmD, RD, LDN, is a freelance writer for WebMD. She earned her BS in nutrition from Cornell University and completed her dietetic internship at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA in 2001. After practicing as a clinical dietitian, she returned to school and obtained her PharmD from Wilkes University. She has been a member of the faculty of the Nesbitt School of Pharmacy at Wilkes University since 2008.
Manning practices as a clinical pharmacist in acute care/internal medicine in addition to her classroom teaching and has maintained her clinical nutrition counseling practice by working with underserved populations. Her research, teaching, and clinical interests include dietary supplements, alternative and integrative medicine practices, wellness practices, global health, and evidence-based pharmacy practice. She is passionate about educating students and the public on medical and wellness topics of all kinds.
