What are the symptoms of cyclothymia (cyclothymic disorder)?

ANSWER

Cyclothymia is a mood disorder that swings between mild depression to the elation and energy of hypomania and back again. The pattern can be unpredictable. You might have normal moods for more than a month between the highs and lows, or not have normal periods at all.

Cyclothymia can straddle between mental illness and normal changes in moods. Some people live with it without problems in their work or life. Others can have a hard time in their marriages and careers because of the mild depression or constant irritability.
