Did you know that men can get breast cancer? This is just one of the many facets of breast cancer that the show A Million Little Things seeks to start conversations about. Survivors, patients, and people who have never had breast cancer alike can all benefit from watching this show.

By centering the experience of a male character with breast cancer, this show gives a view into something that otherwise is invisible. The male character struggles to be able even to tell his friends. The show depicts how hard it is for this character to feel heard even at a support group.

We could all do with a little more empathy for our fellow humans, especially those diagnosed with breast cancer. Television can be a potent tool to help spread awareness and compassion, and this show is no exception.
