What are the benefits of genetic testing for breast cancer?

ANSWER

For some women, the results from a genetic test can help them make informed decisions about their health and life, while also easing anxiety about not knowing their genetic background. You also can decide to have protective surgery, if that makes sense for you. You also may be able to become part of any medical research that may in the long run better your chances of surviving breast cancer.
