Brigid Galloway-Greenwood is a freelance writer for WebMD.

In 1995, she left her role as Director of Advertising at Turner Network Television to follow her passion for writing. When her mother was diagnosed with vascular dementia in 2006, Greenwood began researching the disease and became fascinated with neurology, contributing stories to Public Radio about the impact of cognitive impairment. From there she was hired by custom publishing division of Time, Inc. (now the Foundry @ Dotdash Meredith) as Deputy Editor of Epilepsy Advocate magazine.

While there, she developed and launched Parkinson’s Voices magazine. This experience ignited her interest in patient advocacy and the power of helping people with chronic conditions to share their stories as a means of helping themselves and others. In 2017, she joined the patient advocacy agency, the Snow Companies, as writing director, helping hundreds of people living with rare and chronic diseases to write and tell their stories.

On a personal level, Greenwood’s fascination with the inner workings of the mind also led her to study meditation and mindfulness and create a blog about her experiences as a Buddhist practitioner in the South. In 2016, she published a collection of essays about her experiences entitled The Nature of Things.

You can follow Galloway-Greenwood on LinkedIn or through her blog site, Adventures of a Southern Buddhist-Catholic
