Cindy Moore, MS, RD, LD, FADA

Cindy Moore, MS, RD, LD, FADA, has enjoyed working in health care for more than 20 years. Since 1993, she has been the director of the Nutrition Therapy department at The Cleveland Clinic. Throughout her career Moore has provided care for acute, ambulatory, and long-term care patients. She has provided training to medical, nursing, allied health, and nutrition professionals and students. She is responsible for the management and quality standards of the nutrition department and dietetic internship program as well as communicating with the media on nutrition-related issues.

Moore has also served as vice-chair in the division of education, overseeing more than 30 allied health education programs. She created the dietetic internship program at The Cleveland Clinic in 1989. She oversees the care provided for all acute, rehabilitation, and ambulatory areas.

Moore has been a spokeswoman for the American Dietetic Association since 1996. She gives several presentations to professional and lay audiences and more than 100 interviews to print and electronic media each year. She is a charter fellow of the American Dietetic Association, a recognition for advanced level of practice and leadership in the profession of dietetics. She has served on the executive committee of the Clinical Nutrition Management dietetic practice group.

To balance these professional commitments, Moore also enjoys time with her family and teaching group fitness classes at Bally Total Fitness and the YMCA. She is a certified group fitness instructor with the American Council on Exercise.
