Can exercise help with fatigue from colorectal cancer?

ANSWER

Regular, moderate exercise can lessen feelings of anxiety, depression, weakness, fatigue, and nausea. It can also help you stay active and boost your energy.

Start slowly, allowing your body time to adjust.

Keep a regular exercise schedule, at least three times a week.

If you feel sore, stiff, or exhausted, or out of breath, you're overdoing it.

The safest and most productive activities are swimming, brisk walking, indoor stationary cycling, and low-impact cardio. There's little risk of injury, and they benefit your entire body. Check with your doctor about what's right for you.
