Ben Slocum joined WebMD in July 2015 as Chief Executive Officer of WebMD Health Services, its private portals services business. Mr. Slocum has more than 30 years of experience in the healthcare industry, most recently at Vantage Cancer Care Network, a division of Vantage Oncology, where he served as president, and led the early-stage development and deployment of the company’s population health strategy. Previously, Mr. Slocum was the Chief Executive Officer at Lovelace Health Plan, a $1.1B commercial, Medicare and Medicaid health plan based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, which he evolved into an integrated full-service Accountable Care Organization. The business was later sold to Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Mexico. Prior to joining Lovelace, Mr. Slocum was the Chief Executive Officer of UnitedHealthcare of California, one of the largest markets in UnitedHealthcare’s portfolio. Mr. Slocum has served on the board of directors for The New Mexico Health Insurance Exchange (Governor appointed), The Association of Commerce and Industry of New Mexico, LCF Research of Albuquerque, New Mexico, The American Association of Preferred Provider Organizations, Contra Costa County Council, and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America.
