Daniel Wolfson

Daniel Wolfson is president and chief executive officer of the Alliance of Community Health Plans, an alliance of integrated, non-investor owned and provider-based health plans dedicated to continuous improvements in the health of their members and the communities they serve. Since 1984, Wolfson has guided ACHP and its predecessor (The HMO Group) in a mission that focuses on the highest standards of member plan performance and facilitates improvement.

During his tenure with the organization, Wolfson directed the development of the Health Plan Employer Data and Information Set (HEDISr), a nationally applied measurement to assess the performance of managed care companies. Wolfson helped produce HMO Practice, now Effective Clinical Practice, the first clinically oriented journal targeted at managed care physicians and health care professionals.

Prior to joining ACHP, Wolfson served as the director of planning and research for the Fallon Community Health Plan and as a senior analyst with the Bureau of Community Health Centers. He also served as a social worker assistant with the Massachusetts General Hospital, counseling patients and coordinating long-term care services.

Wolfson is currently a member of several service organizations including the Managed Care Health Association Advisory Board, NCQA-HEDISr Steering Committee, Health Pages Managed Care Advisory Board, AAHP Leadership Group, AAHP Marketing and Research Committee, and AAHP Social Responsibility Committee.

Wolfson holds a masters in health care services administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health and a BA in sociology and psychology at Boston University.
