David Sandman

David Sandman

David Sandman is program officer at the Commonwealth Fund, where he is responsible for projects related to health care coverage and access, quality and managed care, and health care in New York City. Prior to joining the Fund in 1995, Sandman was a policy analyst with the City of New York Department of Health and at a number of community-based HIV/AIDS organizations. He has also worked as a researcher at the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C. The author of numerous articles and book chapters, Sandman has served on advisory committees to the New York State Department of Health, the Community Service Society, and the New York Community Trust.

Sandman is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Haverford College and has a master's in health policy and management from the Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service at New York University, where he was a dean’s scholar and a Helbein scholar. He is currently a doctoral candidate at New York University and a member of its adjunct faculty.
