What does a low C-peptide level mean?

ANSWER

A normal C-peptide range is 0.5 to 2.0 nanograms per milliliter. A low C-peptide level may mean that:

  • You have type 1 or type 2 diabetes
  • Your pancreas doesn't work as well as it should, or it's making less insulin because you take it to treat diabetes
  • You have low blood sugar
  • Treatment has shrunk your insulinoma
