  • an infection
  • low levels of white blood cells
  • canker sores
  • inflammation of the skin due to an allergy
  • a skin rash
  • diarrhea

  • hair loss
  • low energy
  • decreased appetite
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • generalized weakness

INFREQUENT side effects

If experienced, these tend to have a Severe expression i

  • anemia
  • decreased blood platelets
  • low levels of a type of white blood cell called neutrophils
  • stomach or intestinal ulcer

If experienced, these tend to have a Less Severe expression i

  • a change in vision
  • increased sensitivity of the skin to the sun
  • dry skin

RARE side effects

If experienced, these tend to have a Severe expression i

  • high amount of ammonium in the blood
  • a type of blood disorder with a decrease in all types of blood cells called pancytopenia
  • decreased function of bone marrow
  • very low levels of granulocytes, a type of white blood cell
  • a heart attack
  • angina, a type of chest pain
  • a low supply of oxygen rich blood to the heart
  • abnormal heart rhythm
  • heart failure
  • thrombophlebitis, an inflamed vein due to a blood clot
  • coma
  • a significant type of allergic reaction called anaphylaxis
  • acute cerebellar syndrome, a condition affecting the brain's ability to control muscle function
  • a type of bumpy skin rash called a maculopapular rash

  • confusion
  • an extreme sense of wellbeing called euphoria
  • visual sensitivity to light
  • excessive watery eyes
  • nystagmus, a condition with involuntary eye movements
