How the interaction occurs:
Safinamide may increase the amount of medicine your body absorbs.
What might happen:
The amount of your other medicine in your blood may increase and it may cause more side effects than expected.
What you should do about this interaction:
Let your healthcare professionals (e.g. doctor or pharmacist) know that you are taking these medicines together. Separate the times you take your safinamide and other medicine by at least 5 hours. If you are unsure of when to take your medicines, ask your pharmacist. Let your doctor know if you have any side effects from your medicine.Your healthcare professionals may already be aware of this interaction and may be monitoring you for it. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicine before checking with them first.
