  • Precaution: LIMITED DATA SUGGEST THAT LOW AMOUNTS EXCRETED W/NO ADVERSE EFFECTS IN INFANT
  • If you are an adult over 60

  • management or monitoring precaution: Cardiovascular-Caution in chronic heart failure patients due to sodium and water retention with glucocorticoid use. Endocrine-May cause hyperglycemia or worsen glucose control in diabetics. Longer term use may cause osteopenia or osteoporosis. Neuro/Psych-Avoid in older adults with or at high risk of delirium because of inducing or worsening delirium.
  • Pediatric use

  • Severe Precaution: Long term use may lead to HPA-Axis suppression; slowed bone growth, osteoporosis and fractures.
