  • Precaution: BASED ON RISPERIDONE DATA,LOW LEVELS EXCRETED W/NO KNOWN ADV EFFECT ON INFANT

If you are an adult over 60

  • management or monitoring precaution: Renal-Adjust dose according to renal function. Neuro/Psych-Higher risk of tardive dyskinesia in the elderly. May cause sedation, worsen cognitive impairment and increase fall risk. Increased risk of death in senile dementia. Cardiovascular-May cause orthostatic hypotension. Elderly may be more predisposed to drug induced QT prolongation. Gastrointestinal-May cause or worsen pre-existing constipation. Genitourinary-Urinary retention risk.

Giving Invega Sustenna Syringe to a child under 12

  • management or monitoring precaution: Acute risks: drowsiness, akathisia, extrapyramidal effects. Unknown long term effects on growth and sexual maturation. No safety and efficacy for IM dose form. Not recommended per manufacturer.
