Who should not take IsoDitrate Oral?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:


  • glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency
  • significant anemia
  • methemoglobinemia, a type of blood disorder
  • a heart attack
  • constrictive pericarditis, or constrictive inflammation of the sac surrounding the heart
  • pericardial tamponade, a disorder of the heart
  • hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
  • a hemorrhage in the brain
  • low blood pressure
  • abnormal absorption of food nutrients in the gastrointestinal tract
  • a condition where the body is unable to maintain adequate blood flow called shock
  • serious lack of oxygen in the blood
  • high pressure within the skull
