  • throat irritation
  • stuffy nose
  • bronchitis
  • urinary tract infection
  • erythema or redness of skin or mucous membrane
  • itching
  • hair loss
  • joint pain

  • muscle spasm

  • excessive sweating
  • chills
  • taste impairment
  • temporary redness of face and neck
  • decreased appetite
  • weight loss
  • headache
  • a feeling of pins and needles on skin

RARE side effects

  • a stroke
  • lung failure causing loss of breath
  • progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy, a type of brain infection
