  • a decrease in the blood clotting protein prothrombin

  • a yeast infection of the vagina and vulva

INFREQUENT side effects

If experienced, these tend to have a Severe expression i

  • abnormal liver function tests
  • a hypersensitivity reaction to a drug

If experienced, these tend to have a Less Severe expression i

  • thrush
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • diarrhea
  • stomach cramps

RARE side effects

If experienced, these tend to have a Severe expression i

  • diarrhea from an infection with Clostridium difficile bacteria
  • destruction of red blood cells by body's own antibodies
  • decreased blood platelets
  • very low levels of granulocytes, a type of white blood cell
  • low levels of white blood cells
  • increased eosinophils in the blood
  • increase in the number of platelets in the blood
  • damage to the kidneys
  • erythema multiforme, a type of allergic skin reaction
  • a skin disorder with blistering and peeling skin called Stevens-Johnson syndrome
  • seizures
  • a significant type of allergic reaction called anaphylaxis
  • a type of allergic reaction called angioedema
  • a serum sickness reaction

  • reactions at the site of the injection
  • inflammation of the vein, or phlebitis after infusion
