Uses

Elivaldogene autotemcel is used to treat a certain inherited brain disorder (cerebral adrenoleukodystrophy-CALD). In this condition, your body does not make enough of a certain protein that is needed to break down the very long chain fatty acids in the brain. This type of treatment is known as gene therapy. Your elivaldogene autotemcel is made from your own blood stem cells and is given only to you. The blood stem cells have been changed to have genes that work properly so that your body can break down the very long chain fatty acids in the brain. This may help to slow the progression of CALD.
