Who should not take Mifepristone?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:

Conditions:

  • a sudden decrease in adrenal gland function
  • decreased function of the adrenal gland
  • porphyria cutanea tarda
  • hepatic porphyria
  • hereditary liver metabolism disorder
  • erythropoietic protoporphyria
  • variegate porphyria
  • increased risk of bleeding due to clotting disorder
  • high levels of white blood cells
  • abortion complicated by an infection
  • pneumonia with a fungus called Pneumocystis jirovecii
  • cancer in the lining of the uterus
  • a sudden decrease in adrenal gland function
  • low amount of potassium in the blood
  • increased risk of bleeding due to clotting disorder
  • an increased risk of bleeding
  • abnormal EKG with QT changes from birth
  • overgrowth of the uterine lining
  • pregnancy
