Who should not take Benazepril-Hydrochlorothiazide?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:


  • sympathectomy
  • diabetes
  • increased activity of the parathyroid gland
  • high cholesterol
  • gout
  • low amount of magnesium in the blood
  • high amount of calcium in the blood
  • low amount of sodium in the blood
  • extreme loss of body water
  • low amount of potassium in the blood
  • liver failure
  • acute inflammation of the pancreas
  • systemic lupus erythematosus
  • yellowing of the skin in a newborn child
  • high amount of uric acid in the blood
  • Azotemia
  • secondary angle-closure glaucoma
  • decreased blood volume
  • basal cell carcinoma of the skin
  • Absence of Urine Formation
  • Acid Base Problem with Low Chloride and Basic pH Blood
  • squamous cell carcinoma of skin
  • high amount of potassium in the blood
  • Inherited Disorder of Continuing Episodes of Swelling
  • decreased function of bone marrow
  • decreased neutrophils a type of white blood cell
  • renal artery stenosis
  • abnormally low blood pressure
  • liver problems
  • kidney disease with reduction in kidney function
  • abnormal liver function tests
  • giant hives
  • pregnancy
  • Hemodialysis with High-Flux Membrane
  • Intestinal Angioedema
  • Head and Neck Angioedema


  • Thiazides
  • ACE Inhibitors
