  • pigmentary retinopathy
  • increased sensitivity of the skin to the sun
  • contact dermatitis, a type of skin rash that occurs from contact with an offending substance
  • difficult or painful urination
  • abnormal muscle movements

  • a high prolactin level
  • abnormal sexual function
  • the inability to have an erection
  • breastmilk production not associated with childbirth or nursing
  • breast pain
  • breast fullness due to milk production
  • absence of menstrual periods
  • irregular periods
  • an abnormal increase in muscle tone
  • weight gain
  • anxious feelings

RARE side effects

  • a type of blood disorder where the red blood cells burst called hemolytic anemia
  • low platelet count and bleeding from immune response
  • decreased blood platelets
  • very low levels of granulocytes, a type of white blood cell
  • low levels of white blood cells
  • low levels of a type of white blood cell called neutrophils
  • neuroleptic malignant syndrome, a reaction characterized by fever, muscle rigidity and confusion
  • a change in vision
  • torsades de pointes, a type of abnormal heart rhythm
  • prolonged QT interval on EKG
  • ventricular arrhythmias, a type of abnormal heart rhythm
  • a blockage of the bile duct that resulting in high bilirubin levels
  • priapism, a prolonged erection of the penis
  • skin rash with sloughing
  • melanosis, a condition where increased melanin results in hyperpigmentation
  • a condition with symptoms that resemble lupus
  • seizures
  • low body temperature
  • heat stroke
  • a type of allergic reaction called angioedema
  • accidental falls
