Who should not take Atomoxetine Capsule?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:


  • pheochromocytoma
  • behaving with excessive cheerfulness and activity
  • Manic-Depression
  • psychotic disorder
  • having thoughts of suicide
  • aggressive behavior
  • closed angle glaucoma
  • high blood pressure
  • heart attack
  • heart attack within the last 30 days
  • coronary artery disease
  • disease of the muscle of the heart with enlargement
  • prolonged QT interval on EKG
  • abnormal heart rhythm
  • chronic heart failure
  • abnormal EKG with QT changes from birth
  • stroke
  • disorder of the blood vessels of the brain
  • occasional numbness
  • prickling
  • or tingling of fingers and toes
  • blood pressure drop upon standing
  • abnormally low blood pressure
  • liver problems
  • continued painful erection
  • seizures
  • High Amount of Bilirubin in the Blood
  • cannot empty bladder
  • abnormal liver function tests
  • Easily Angered or Annoyed
  • structural disorder of heart
  • CYP2D6 poor metabolizer
  • Delay When Starting to Pass Urine
  • tachyarrhythmia
