  • management or monitoring precaution: Renal-Higher incidence of myopathy or rhabdomyolysis with age over 65 particularly with renal disease, uncontrolled hypothyroidism. Hepatic-Monitor LFTs for liver dysfunction prior to therapy and when clinically indicated.

Giving Pravastatin SODIUM to a child under 12

  • management or monitoring precaution: Manufacturer recommends post-menarche females be counseled on appropriate contraception.
  • management or monitoring precaution: Not studied in children age < 8 yrs. No safety and efficacy.
