If you are PREGNANT

If you are NURSING

  • management or monitoring precaution: General-Increased risk of adverse psychiatric and paradoxical reaction. Limit to short term use, maximum dose of 5 mg/day. Limit use of other CNS active medications that increase fall risk including opioids. Neuro/Psych-Elderly have a much higher risk for sedation, depression, cognitive impairment and falls. Renal-Active metabolites are renally excreted. Use caution in renal impairment with initial dosing starting with 2 to 2.5 mg/day and titrate as tolerated.
