If you are an adult over 60

  • management or monitoring precaution: Neuro/Psych-Risk for sedation and falls. General-Monitor for hypotension and hypoxia.Limit geriatric dosing to 2mg/day.

Giving Ativan Vial to a child under 12

  • Severe Precaution: Duration of use lasting > 3 hours may affect cognitive development. No demonstrated efficacy in treating status epilepticus. Prolonged t 1/2. Increased CNS effects. May contain benzyl alcohol.
  • management or monitoring precaution: Duration of use > 3 hours may affect cognitive development. Prolonged half-life (t 1/2) may increase risk of excitation, agitation, and hallucination age <8 years.
