Who should not take SUPRANE?

The following conditions are contraindicated with this drug. Check with your physician if you have any of the following:


  • high levels of potassium in the blood
  • disease affecting muscles and nerves
  • Duchenne muscular dystrophy
  • inherited periodic paralysis
  • coronary artery disease
  • abnormal EKG with QT changes from birth
  • hardening of the liver
  • liver problems
  • a condition with high fevers and muscle contractions called malignant hyperthermia
  • hepatitis C
  • hepatitis B
