I have been taking this orally for about a month, and along with three face creams, my acne has cleared! I have fortunately not had to experience any side effects.

I've been taking Doryx for almost 3 months. It has been extremely effective in addressing the acne on my face and back; however, it has taken almost 3 months for me to see really noticable results. Positives: It's worked well; Negatives: It's taken a long time, it's expensive, and I have not been able to take it on an empty stomach. I will continue to take this medication to treat my acne.

I've taken Doryx off and on for the last few years to clear up acne. The side effects are awful- shortness of breath and nausea. Because of the side effects I stopped taking it but needed a quick fix before my wedding. Took it for two weeks before my wedding along with Epiduo (Which Ive been on for 2 years) and Duac and my skin looked radiant! This medicane really does work BUT don't know if it is really worth the side effects.

Cleared up my rosacea great, but after a few weeks use got itchy legs, and several yeast and fungal infections. But the worst was when my body started aching like I got run over by a truck! Needless to say, I had to quit taking it.

On day 4 of taking medication, I had bumps all over my face. My body acne was worse, and I felt horrible. I clearly had an allergic reaction which doctor would not confirm. Take caution with this medication. Very strong. Very hard to swallow.

Prescribed by my dermatologist for my acne problems i have had for most of my life, noticing a lot of hair loss and had no idea why until i checked out all of the feedback! acne did not clear up as fast as i thought it would, no stomach problems and the pill is rectangular which is hard to swallow... also noticed my beautiful teeth are turning a horrible yellow color! NOT TAKING MY PILL TOMORROW!!! or ever again for that matter. i would rather have white teeth and my hair at 22 yrs old over my acne problems, im sure there is something else out there without all of the side effects!Read More Read Less

I only took this medicine for 10 days and had a bad reaction to it. I had a horrible cluster headaches and migraines for four of the ten days due to it. I also had problems using the bathroom. I would feel the need to go, but couldn't. The doctor's office told me to not take the medicine for a few days and then try it again. (I threw the meds away.) Make sure you get a list of the side effects of this med.

I'm 23 and my acne has always been bad since I was a teenager. I have blemishes all over and I'm always breaking out. I done tried just about everything, soaps, creams, facial washes, etc. Recently I asked my physician what can he give me for my acne, he prescribed me 'Tretinoin Cream, USP, 0.025%'. At first this cream broke me out bad so I stopped using it for about 2 weeks. I finally went to the dermatologist and she prescribed me 'Differin', 'Doryx', and a facial wash. I take the Doryx in the morning on an empty stomach, then I use the Differin after I wash my face with Irish Spring Aloe and at night I mix the Differin with the Tretinoin. I been doing for a wk now and it is clearing up my skin pretty good. I cant wait to see the results after about a month.Read More Read Less

I had terrible 'Bacne' from pregnancy. Doryx was amazing, and cleared up everything in 2 mos. I had no side effects, and felt wonderful. Give it a chance, you will see a noticeable difference in a matter of a week. This drug works wonders!!!!!!

I began taking Doryx one week ago for adult acne. Even though I always take it with food, I have felt nausea like morning sickness during pregnancy. I have lost handfuls of hair, felt exhausted and experienced pain in my wrist and shoulder. None of this ever happened before I started the medicine. I think I'm getting all of the side effects and none of the benefits.

Significant depression, suicidal tendencies, disrupted menstrual cycle, weight gain and severely lethargic. My doctor said none of my side effects could be caused by the drug, but I NEVER had those problems prior or after I stopped taking the pills.

I'm 17 years old with cystic and moderate to severe acne. It started about 7 years ago and has held me back until now. Doryx helped within the first two days! no side effects like hair loss or heartburn and no skin irration at all! Immediately calmed my skins redness and cysts started to disappear! I was also prescribed ziana which is a topical gel that seems to help as well. I highly reccomend this for anyone with cystic acne it works magic on the skin!

I have moderate acne and then my back started breaking out. My doctor prescribed doryx. The first week I was on it, my chin area and throat started breaking out...a whole bunch of huge pimples. Then my chest started getting little red pimples. Now, I have tons of acne marks on my chin and chest. No longer taking this med.

I'm giving Doryx to my 19 year old son who has severe cystic acne; he couldn't shave and it was getting worse. It has begun to clear up. The cystic acne is gone and the "regular" acne is beginning to go away. I am a little worried about the problems others have had with esophageal pain, however he takes it with dinner and hasn't complained. I'll be checking with the MD about this on our next visit.

I have taken this drug on and off for 3 years. It does work for controlling larger acne. However, I was just diagnosed with esophageal candidiasis (fungus in my esophagus) and both of the doctors I saw said it is most likely from taking Doryx for an extended period of time. I obviously will no longer be aking this medication.
