Two days later after blood work was back from the mdo since the ER didn't see a need for it, my father was in kidney failure. He spent 4 days in the hospital ans was released to go home. The md thinks that he will recover with...

I'de been off & on this med for 1 1/2 yrs. I began walking like a drunk when I have never drank or done drugs. Went to a specialst who said the Gentamicin destroyed every nerve in both of my inner ears. No Dr. said a word or warned me. Needless to say my world's been turned upside-down and I'll never walk or be able to drive without being violently ill. Why didn't the Dr. say he was going to ruin the rest of my life? Stop the world, I wanna get off this out-of-control merry-go-round!!!

Two days later after blood work was back from the mdo since the ER didn't see a need for it, my father was in kidney failure. He spent 4 days in the hospital ans was released to go home. The md thinks that he will recover with no permanent damage but only time will tell. All of the md's and nurses stated that the kidney failure was from the Gentamicin. My father has never had any kidney problems until this drug was given. This is a horrible drug. Any thoughts on a lawsuit? I was told by an attorney that you can only sue if there is permanent damage. Any thoughts? Thank youRead More Read Less

Received drug while in hospital for three days for an infection. After being discharged I began getting extreme nausea and was very tired. Upon a follow up I was diagnosed with Acute Renal Failure. The severe symptoms lasted about a month. Luckily after being off of the drug for couple months my kidney failure is back to normal and my nausea and fatiginess has gone away. The infection went away but that first month was one of the most miserable months I have ever had.

This is a horrible drug. I lost my hearing and I am left with horrible tinnitus. I can't imagine why anyone would use this medication and plan on taking legal action.
