This drug has given my ability to recall dreams I thought were gone after my aneurysm rupture. Thankyou.

It's been 3 weeks now and I am only getting less cognizant and foggy. No help to my memory strength either. Calling my Doctor first thing Monday morning to take me off the subscription. Hopefully I will recover to my prior state with no ramifications going forward. Will except calls. James Murphy 516-972-8335

I've been taking Donepezil for several years now, but am now plagued with severe diarrhea. My physician has suggested that I cut this drug in half. I will take it for another week or so, but if the diarrhea doesn't abate, I will dispense with it. I have no reason to think it was helpful to me previously.

I am relatively new to this drug. Over last couple of years I had noticed increase in memory issues and recently it seemed to get work so my MD had me see a specialist and after my cat scan showed white spots on my brain and their symptom testing process, they decided I had early stage alzheimer's. I have been on this drug about 2 months now and am not overly thrilled with the issues I am having. I started taking it before bed at night and then would wake up constantly from weird dreams I was having. It also made food taste different (i.e., coffee now nauseates me). I now take it in the morning and it seems that the weird dreams have decreased but I have to pee a lot at night and have a hard time going back to sleep. They have me taking Melotonin but that seems to not do much with aiding me getting back to sleep. So I am not really sure how valuable this drug is a good fit for me unless I can figure out how to get a good night's rest as I am sure lack of good rest over time will just make me feel worse and more unhappy.Read More Read Less

Can't tell any difference. But there is no sure way to realky know. Some days it seems like it helps. Others like it is making no difference. I'm no better, but maybe I'm not getting worse as rapidly. At least it not expensive and not seeming to harm.

I ended up with major foot and leg swelling...apparently only 1% get that.Didn't know why immediately and was concerned it was my liver, only to find out it was the increase in the Donepezil from 5-10 mg. Who knew? Very scary. I've gone back to 5 mg as instructed by my Dr. and will see how that works. Stay tuned. Oh, and it's still too early for me to tell if this med is improving my memory which is why I am on Donepezil to begin with. Hmm. Very interesting learning about this particular med and what such a small dose can do to your body other than what it is prescribed to you for.Read More Read Less

about 3 days after I started taking this medication, i started feeling dizzy. it has continued to get worse since then. I am extremely dizzy, sick to my stomach and sometimes puking. I also have diarrhea. It has gotten so bad that all I do is lay on the couch or in bed. |The worst dizziness is when I'm walking around. I am going to stop taking it and see if my body improves. If it does, no more of that particular med. Doc can put me on another.

These reviews have been so helpful. I've been worried about my mother since she's been taking this medication. She doesn't get out of bed! She seems more depressed and less communicative, it's horrible. I'm throwing what's left of it in the garbage. I had no idea of the side effects! I hate Doctors sometimes. I've been telling them about the symptoms and they added and antidepressant which makes her even more sleepy. Horrible. Can't believe I've paid good money for treatment that has made her worse than when she started out.Read More Read Less

My dosage was prescribed to be taken before going to bed. After years of extremely poor rest that contributed to losing my job, I found out that it could be taken in the morning. I had the best sleep in 4 years last night. It could still be better but at least I was able to sleep

My mother was having hallucinations and severe confusion and once she started taking this medication the transformation and improvement was almost overnight. She even could tell the difference and admitted she was in a haze previously.

My husband's Dr prescribed this for mild dementia. He is having a lot of nausea and no appetite so far. So not sure he will be able to take it for the 3 weeks it says before the side affects diminish. He also has had hallucinations. Think I will tell him to take it in the morning rather than evening.
