I used TUMS during pregnancy to soothe frequent reflux. When my daughter was an infant (~4 mo) and she threw up and was in pain, I crushed a TUMS tablet, dipped a moist fingertip into the powder, and put the powder on my daughter's tongue. She calmed down quickly. I use it to calm my throat after throwing up myself.
