Prescribed 750mg, once a day pills, for a respiratory infection. Sore throat and congestion cleared quickly but the side effects of this medicine are very real. Stiff joints, stomach discomfort and terrible insomnia/nervousness. I do not recommend this medication unless you have a severe infection as the side effects were very troubling for me. I was only able to complete four days before I threw ... Show Full Comment

From initial once(for 7 days) daily 500 mg dose for an upper respiratory infection, I felt weird for the first 2-3 hours. Still coughing semi-productive. I agree about the sleep, 2-3 hours the first 2 nights and don't see any change tonite. As far a coughing the doc ask if I wanted cough meds. I told him I was taking Robitussin DM, dumb on my part, I should got the cough prescript.

After the 2nd day, I had bad pain (that got worse)on my let side under my breast, plus a nasty skin rash all over my back, side and shoulders. Both got worse. I stopped taking and told my Doctor - I was given 850 mg of amoxicillin instead. We'll see how this works. It's been 4 days since my last of Levofloxacin and my left side is better (left tendon) but the skin rash is still there but w ... Show Full Comment
