I personally have not taken this drug. It was prescribed for my 77 year old mother who has always been active, able to drive and has always taken care of her own household chores. Since taking this drug 3 weeks ago, she has resorted to sitting with her feet elevated, unable to drive, do her chores, or to comfortably even go to the bathroom. She is also using a walker at the present time. The achilles tendons in both legs have "popped" and torn. This is not a medication to play with in the elderly. I implore anyone with advanced age to ask your doctor for an alternative medication if possible.Read More Read Less

Did not work at all for me.

Am taking 7 pills, one a day for seven days. I am on my second day, and so far no change. I hurt all over, but not sure it is from the med or the violent coughing. Very thirsty, dry mouth, throwing up, and sick stomach. Hope it is worth it.

I first started using this drug when I had a horrible sinus infection a couple of years ago (I can't take any kind of pennicillin). Recently, I started with a dry cough, sore throat and mucous dripping from the back of my sinus'. I wanted this 'drug' because I thought it would get rid of any kind of 'flu' that I might be coming down with. The only side effect I have is nausea and some slight gagging...but well worth it to prevent ANY future sinus or throat infection. I keep vigilant for any of the 'tendon' problems reported...and only feel 'achy'. Otherwise, it's a Godsend for people like me who cannot take pen'cillin.Read More Read Less

I'm using the pill for sinus infection. I started feeling better right after the first pill. I felt nauseous though for a bit but it went away. I shall post an update after my second pill. My doctor said I should feel better in 2 days only.

This is my 3rd day on 14-day treatment course. My chest pain was gone after the 2nd pill, my cough is less intense than before. I did not feel any pain that was strange to my old body. However, I felt that I had 2 side effects: I did not feel I was hungry and I developed canker sore. I quit my multi vitamins but I took 3 drugs at the same time with this drug but I had no bad interactions: 1. Omeprazole for acid reflex, 2.Prazosin for enlarged prostate and high blood pressure, and 3. Gemfribrozil I forgot to list 1 cup of wine at night. I felt better than 3 days ago. The only thing I felt bad was that I couln't go fishing when the sun came sparingly in the State of Rain, namely WA because of taking this weird Levofloxacin Oral 500mg. Read More Read Less

The pain started in the joints of my right knee, then the following day I couldnt move my neck and my wrists and sides of my hands are really painful. I have been taking it for five days now, the prescription is for ten days. I am not taking it anymore. The side effects are ridiculous. I had it once before for a bout of Cellulitis and have had problems with my left leg ever since. Not a good antibiotic.

I am only on the second pill but have horrible headaches and muscle pain in my shoulder and hip

It's taken care of my UTI, but at the cost of me suffering almost all of the side effects listed

Unable to sleep at night restlessness, makes me feel edgy

It is working well with my Pneumonia but boy are my muscles sore.
