I was treated for a couple of weeks on this medication. I had been having chronic urinary tract infections which had been treated by oral antibiotics including ciprofloxacin, keflex and septra ds. They were effective only for a short period of time and once I was off of these meds the infection would come back. I even had several weeks of gentamycin bladder irrigation which was unsucessful. Not sure if it was due to the antibiotics and then her feet also started hurting. Hoping to get done with it asapRead More Read Less

They were effective only for a short period of time and once I was off of these meds the infection would come back. I even had several weeks of gentamycin bladder irrigation which was unsucessful. I have been off this IV medication now for several weeks and I have not had any more symptoms of a bladder infection. I am estatic because I have been having bladder infections for a few years now and I was worried it might never be cured. But it looks like ertapenem did the job and I am very happy with this medication. I had no side effects. The only thing that bothered me was the dressing I had to use to cover my midline. It was very irritating.Read More Read Less
