Yea! No more periods. I started taking this after starting with Seasonique. You absolutely must take it at the same time every day. I cannot believe that I suffered through horrible PMS and periods all of these years. I was actually pondering a voluntary complete hysterectomy it was getting so bad. Last week I was in my closet and stumbled across my stack of boxes of tampons and pads I used ...

I took this pill for about a month. I was told that I may experience spotting since I started taking mid cycle. I started spotting then bleeding which lasted continuous until I completely stopped this pill. At least 11 days. I agree this pill probably effects people differently. I, however, had horrible side effects. The bleeding was heavy and I had worse cramps than my normal period. I also belie...

I have been taking this med for 2 1/2 months now and still have to wear a liner everyday..I think it is causing a huge breakout on my face and skin where I never had issues before and I haven't seen any change in my periods...my doc says I bleed everyday because of my exercising- but I have a healthy body fat range and weight and know plenty of women who exercise more than me with NO problems.I have had insomnia and at first blamed that and the breakouts on caffeine and stress, but I am thinking its this pill- also I feel off balance at times and get "fuzzy headed" at random times....and yes-have gained at least 5 lbs. I do feel a little better now I have heard it takes a while to work- maybe I will try for a few more months..but its SOOO expensive and my last resort. Cannot say it is worth it at this point.Read More Read Less

I am beside myself. I was put on this medication to help with the heavy bleeding and painful cramping which lasted about two days, then I would have a normal period for the next three days. I got through the first month thinking it was great, second month, well, I have now had my period for 4 weeks! I am emotionally and physically exhausted, not to add going broke with purchasing tampons. I am discontinuing this pill this weekend. This pill did not work for me.

I love this pill. I was on seasonale for about two years and my doctor recommended this because I was skiping my placebos pills anyway to avoid my period. I haven't had any break through bleeded at all and I've been taking it for about 7 months now my only negative comment is that I have gained about 5lbs. But I haven't had a period in so long I have forgoten what it's like to have to even deal with and no regrets there.

Just finishing up my 2nd pill pack and couldn't be more pleased! Having never used an OC before, I wasn't sure how I would respond. Side effects have been minimal: breast tenderness and 3-5 lb weight gain. So far no break-through bleeding/spotting which I hope continues! Prior to use, although my periods were short in duration, my PMS--which included anxiety, moodiness and irritability--consumed the 3 weeks preceding my period! I used to get excited to get my period because I knew that at least my hormones would level off for at least a week. How twisted is that? No PMS and no period has been a great experience for me so far. Read More Read Less

I was put on Lybrel 2 months ago because I had been experiencing a 7 week long non- stop heavy period. I do have a fibroid tumor which was just found and it is suspected to cause this long crazy painful period. I had never once had an issue with my peroids before this year. The first day I started taking Lybrel my period stopped and I haven't even spotted or anything since. I maybe gained 5 lbs (as I have with all my other BC Pills) but all in all I feel great. I haven't experienced any of the other side effects. My dr. is hoping that taking Lybrel will help reduce the size of the fibroid and I'll be going back soon to have it measured again.Read More Read Less

I LOVE IT!! The initial 3 mos of spotting sucked, however, I have been using it for 7 months and the pain associated with the endometriosis & fibroids have decreased immensely. I am so glad my Dr suggested this pill. I just hope they don't find anything wrong with it down the line. (finger's crossed)

Lots of spotting. Just enough to require a little pad. Used for 5 months now.

This is actually a follow up review from one I posted a few months ago: The Lybrel after 7 months (which is sometimes how long it takes to work) has finally worked, and I am not bleeding at all. FINALLY! Something that really works! (It took a while TO work, but Im glad now that it has)

Horrible is the best way I can describe my experience! I was placed on Lybrel to control extremely heavy and frequent periods, I took this pill for 3 months and used more Kotex in those months than I had in the last 3 years. I had horrible mood swings was angry one minute and crying the next. I also gained 15 pounds while on this pill. I'm glad my Dr changed my pill, with in 3 days of not taking the pill my period stopped and with in 2 weeks I had lost 10lbs, this pill was just not for me.

I had been taking this medication for 2 months. During my second month, I got a horrible headache that lasted two weeks. Following advice from my doctor, I stopped it for two weeks, and start it again. My headache came back.

Prior to my prescription on Lybrel I had severe periods. My periods came twice a month and were extremelly painful and heavy. I had blood clots and lost a large amount of blood because of it. I have been on Lybrel for two months and I have light spotting about once a month. It is so much lighter and less painful than before. It has been a positive experience thus far.

Been on this for 4 months now. I was bleeding for weeks on end before, and even a D&C didnt help. I still bleed but its no where near as long or bad. Instead of weeks, it will be a few days. Thats normal as it takes up to 7 months to fully work my Dr. says.

It has been a solid 2 months that I have been on Lybrel. My period has diminished down to the occasional spotting and my cramps are gone. It is wonderful to get up take my pill and get on with my day. Know that I have and effective birth control and an effective way to deal with my Endometriosis makes me very happy. I figure within the next month or two the spotting will stop and I will have very minimal cramping anymore.

Mood swings and insomnia have been horrible.I have had spotting and bleeding continually for the two months that I have been using it! Rather have heavy 2 week periods than go through the side effects!

I am in the second month of taking this medication and am very frustrated with it. My mood swings are huge (never had issues before with this) and I am currently in the middle of the longest period I have ever had (2 weeks). I contacted my doctor who said I can either ride it out and keep taking the medication or quit. If I choose to stop taking the pill my cycle will start over - I don't think I can take that at this point. I will continue for now, but am not happy. I think this drug is will not be long-term for me.Read More Read Less

So far I've had two of the possible side effects pretty consistenly, nausea and cramps. I've yet to reach the point where I will know how effective it has been. I'm due to start my period this week. Thankfully, so far anyways, I've had no spotting or breakthrough bleeding. We'll see . . .

thus far on lybrel, i have had most of the possible side effects listed. while i am a bit frustrated with the acne and breast enlargement and tenderness that recently began, i am most concerned with the frequent sudden mood swings. it seems as though i hate the world and its inhabitants most of the time. that is not me. i love my life and everything in it - good and bad, but the changes i have seen recently are very frightening to me and those around me.
