I was put on this by my dentist last year because I have gastroparesis and unfortunately it cause me to get dehydrated often, even including my mouth. My teeth start sticking to my gums and people can't tell what I'm saying. I recently had to go back because one of my teeth hurt so bad that I thought I was going to have to get a root canal. Luckily it turned out a filling got lose or something so he just closed it again. He kept talking about how dry my mouth was. I keep one container of the Prevident in my bathroom, on in my dad's, and one in my suitcase for when I got out of town to make sure I don't forget. So now I'm paranoid. He gave me these samples of, I guess it's a new Biotene product that is some kind of dry mouth gel and told me to rub it on my tongue some during the day and swish it around. I couldn't find any at the drugstore so I ordered it of Amazon and then at Walgreens I got a dry mouth spray bottle. I also have started using the Prevident each time I brush hoping that may help. I totally recommend this for people with DRY MOUTH. I use the MINT flavor and it tastes great, enough to swallow it! It keeps my mouth and tongue wet enough for several hours afterwards, which is such a relief!!!

My husband was prescribed this and has been using the Fruitastic flavor and it smells and tastes like vomit. It is hard to keep using with the flavor. He has only been on it for less than a month so the effectiveness rating is not really accurate.
