I normally use gyne-lotrimin if I get a yeast infection, but the store that was nearby only offered monistat. I know the anit-fungal is from the same "family" but there's a world of difference!!!! I normally use gyne-lotrimin if I get a yeast infection, but the store that was nearby only offered monistat. I know the anit-fungal is from the same "family" but there's a world of difference!!!! First was the burning sensation that lasted for several hours after the insertion of the cream. I have a pretty high pain tolerance and this stuff made me want to cry! Second was the use of the cream itself. While it was easy to insert, I had to use pantyliners all day due to "leakage". Third was the fact that two days after treatment, the yeast infection was back!!! I returned to a different drug store and purchased the gyne-lotrimin tablet (3 day). No pain, less mess and the infection was gone. I'm not sure how much different these meds are from one another, but it's a world of difference to me.Read More Read Less
