Horrible horrible pill. I have been on it for 2 years. It gives me weird bumps on my chin that don't go away unless I pick at them and scab over into horrible pus scabs. I am not me, I yell at stupid things, cry for no reason and have suicidal thoughts. My emotions are like I am on my period times 10. I literally can't stop crying or being angry at everyone. This pill has completely changed who I ...

I have been having good and bad side effects. Acne has decreased and period has become regular but I've also gained headaches and my vaginal area smells different than it used to. Anyone else have a smell change?

I giving Azurette and took it for 3 months with no problems. However I developed one of the most serious side effects. I went to the ER with severe shortness of breath & chest pain. I was diagnosed with extensive bilateral pulmonary embolisms. I'm an otherwise healthy 25 year old. While hospitalized for 10 days I was tested for all sorts of genetic conditions that would predispose me to blood clots, all came back negative. So the doctors are saying it was this medication. Definitely would not take again.Read More Read Less

Before taking birth control I've had the worst hormonal mood swings, I would cry and get in serious fights with my boyfriend. It was so bad. I would cry out of no where, I would get very agitated. I was on this medication for a while and then I stopped. I got back on it because I wanted something to control my hormones as well as a contraceptive. I think this product works. I have not had any side affects at all. I feel that this medication also helps my acne. I feel bad for the women who take this and have a hard time dealing with it. Read More Read Less

Just quit taking this medication about a week ago. This was my first experience on birth control, and my gyne suggested I try it. Side effects of the drug aren't worth it. Never suffered with acne (maybe 2 pimples during that time of the month) but since taking azurette, I have about 100. No joke. The mood swings are real-extremely upset to crying on the bathroom floor. Over nothing. Headaches everyday as well as nausea. Literally felt like I was "in a fog". No energy. Since I stopped taking Azurette, my mood has changed dramatically for the better. No more headaches, no nausea. Acne has yet to clear up. Read More Read Less

I've been on this pill for only 6 days, and it makes me cry daily and get very emotional. It makes me cry at the drop of a hat. My Dr. put me on this as a form of a lower-dosage hormone birth control pill. I am stopping this pill immediately because it makes me feel sad constantly. I have also been nauseated, have headaches, and have developed acne that I never had before.

First and foremost, let me say that I am not sexually active and am NOT taking Azurette as a form of birth control. My psychiatrist recommended taking birth control to help manage my anxiety disorder, as it is always worse before and during my period. So I went to my physician and discussed it with her, and Azurette is what she prescribed. Things were good for approximately the first pack. I am now halfway through my second pack. And since about the time I began this pack, I have seen an increase in my anxiety. Before taking Azurette, my anxiety was quite bothersome, and now it is even worse. I frequently experience mood swings, and almost always feel like crying. I have a hard time making it through work without going in the back room to cry away my troubles. Also, before taking Azurette, I had no problem at all sleeping through the night. But now, I find myself waking up a few times the middle of the night, often feeling fearful and jittery for no reason at all. I am very disappointed with Azurette. I had high hopes for it to help solve my problems with anxiety, but instead it made them worse. I have an appointment with my psychiatrist this week and I will not hesitate to tell him all the problems this drug has caused me.Read More Read Less

I have been taking this birth control for almost a year and a half, and I've had to switch 4 times before and I do really like this birth control. The only thing is a bloat like crazy when I'm on my period and break out. I gain around 6 pounds when I'm on it and once I'm off 2-4 days later I'm back to my original weight and the acne goes away. It don't use any other type of protection cause I've been with the same partner for almost 3 years and it's ever failed me. I do recommend women to try it since everyone's body is different. I'm satisfied, and will continue to take this birth control until I'm ready to take the next step????????Read More Read Less

It's been over a year since I last took Azurette and I'm still reeking the side effects. I hate that I ever tried this brand. Azurette gave me horrible acne and lots of deep rooted bumps on my chin that my dermatologist can't get rid of. Beware!

I took Azurette for about 7 months and for the first few months everything was going smoothly. My periods were beginning to regulate, my headaches began to subside, and my cramps even lessened. But after about the third month once I started my period I noticed every month Id get a horrible rash that killed my skin down there. I thought I was allergic to the pads maybe. Tried different brands of course and nothing worked. So eventually I went off of this birth control and everything is back to normal. I don't recommend this for sensitive skin. (Which I didn't even know that I had)Read More Read Less

I have been on this pill, for about 7 years and for me and my body type, I never gained weight from it. If taken without missing any pills my period only last about 4-5 days, first two days are kinda heavy but normal, Ive noticed if i miss a pill my period will last a little longer. I can say my skin is nearly acne free. But if i had to choose one thing I do NOT like is YES (like many other reviews) around the time Im getting my period I have some mood swings, It can be a little much (like getting mad at traffic or becoming emotional Very easily) but i can say it only last about 3 days. (the first and second day before my period and the day of) (mostly) Always remember that different birth control is different for everyone, everyone will have a some kind of side effect no matter what, being it weight gain or tenderness in your breast, to mood swings. Also before I started this pill i tried many other the worst one I took was YAZ I broke out and when it came time for my period I had it for about 2 almost 3 weeks. I hope this helps anyone wondering about this pill, Remember to ALWAYS call your doctor with ANY concerns or questions. :)Read More Read Less

I started this BC 4 days before I was headed to vacation (just a coincidence). I had 19 hours flight with 2 breaks and my first flight went well. But when I boarded the 2nd flight I faced something that I haven't experienced in my life. I got into that flight and in next 30secs I felt I was going crazy ready to scream and shout and had very negative thoughts (like a bipolar). I wasn't able to breathe. somehow I hold myself and closed my eyes and just kept breathing..the whole flight I felt miserable. I had taken long flights (~30 hours) but never felt this way. I immediately stopped taking this med.. and felt a little better. But side effects where there almost couple of days before I felt normal. I HIGHLY recommend to NOT take this med. It drives you crazy and insane... make u hallucinations. Read More Read Less

I'm pretty sure this birth control triggered SEVERE dry eye syndrome which has ruined my life.I started taking it and within 1 month I started gaining weight, and in total I gained about 10 pounds. Also within 1 month started noticing a dry scratchy feeling in my eyes which progressively got worse. I did some research and combined with the fact that it runs in my family, I'm sure this pill triggered the horrible disease. I also experienced eyelash loss and ugly mood swings to the point where I would lash out at small things and cry randomly. My sex drive did decrease significantly as well. I truly regret taking it. I have been on Azurette for about 5 years now, and I am very happy with it! I never experience the mood swings that other people have mentioned although I did previously while taking other pills.

I was on Azurette for about 9 months to help my heavy and irregular periods and for protection. It worked great. My periods were lighter and only lasted 4 days and I never had any pregnancy scares. However, the side effects were HORRIBLE. My boobs went from a C to a 34 double D and I gained about 15lbs. I also experienced extreme mood swings and depression that affected a lot of my relationships. Definitely was not worth it!

I'm on my 5th month of this pill. During the first 3 months it caused me mild depression, itchy dry skin on legs, sensitive dry palms of my hands, loss of libido, but some of these side effects improved eventually. I still get depressed and tired before my period but not irritable or angry. It also causes more hair loss than other generics of Mircette. I’m sad that I no longer have thick hair. My sex drive is all gone. No feeling down there. It’s great for controlling acne. It keeps my super oily skin at bay, but skin tends to be more oily before my period. Occasionally I get cystic pimples but my skin is clear most of the time. It also causes dry eyes on some days so I can’t wear my contacts as long as I’d like. My migraines start during the non-hormone pill days (the two pills during the last week). I’ve been able to prevent migraines by taking estrogen pills to level out the steep drop in estrogen right before my period starts. Overall I found Azurette to be quite tolerable but I plan to give Kariva a try because of the hair loss. Read More Read Less

I switched from Lo Loestrin Fe to Azurette to keep cost down. However, it wasn't after today and reading other comments that I realized that I need to get off this pill. I have experience extreme mood changes from happiness to irritation to anger, I'm constantly crying over nothing, I feel like a child who cannot control their emotions. The people around me are becoming resentful and it's placing much stress on my current relationship. I thought I was going crazy. I'm glad I came across this...

Been on it for a little over a month. Dr. put me on it to induce periods due to pcos and wanting to conceive. No side effects experienced. only complaint is period is really heavy and long. I thought the pill would shorten my period. I thought me period was done and this morning it was heavy again. Hopefully next month will be different

I took this pill for a long time and never realized the side effects. I even saw a psychiatrist thinking something bad was happening to me. I tried several different meds but nothing helped. So, I stopped taking all meds including the pill. I felt great, positive and full of energy. I still wanted to regulate my period and not get pregnant. So, I thought I'd try the pill again. But, I noticed severe fatigue after one week of taking this pill. I fall asleep on the couch for at least two hours in the middle of the day. I also noticed that I become angry very easily and feel extremely hot for no good reason. I lash out at people and have very negative thoughts. I get a sharp pain in my uterus occasionally. I feel depressed, sad, and paranoid. My period is lighter but I spot bleed even when I take the pill on time. I am not taking this pill anymore and I feel back to normal. I would advise against using this pill.Read More Read Less
