When my pharmacy switched me to this from Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo, I was livid. I went to this website and read horror stories then went back to the pharmacy to switch my medication back, but they said it would cost me over $200 with my prescription plan. So, as you can imagine, I kept this free generic version. Well, so far. So the same. I haven't noticed one difference and I've been on this for 6 mo...

I was on tri-lo-sprintec for months. I could not figure out why all the sudden I would be furious about something insignificant, then feel like crying 10 minutes later than back to normal. I had terrible itching on the back of my calves-would keep me up at night. I relied on my glasses more (my vision was worse), my periods were terrible and I would feel dizzy. Some occasions my shortness of br...

Only on this drug for two weeks and I got dizzy which sent me into a panic attack, which I’ve never had this sending me to the ER twice. Still don’t feel quite right and overly tired. I’ve never felt so horrible and terrified after this experience. Makes me scared to try anything else! I was taking this for acne and it is not worth it.

I was changed to this one by my insurance and I am not one to complain. I always try to give it some time so that my body adjusts to the medication. While on this I started having acne breakouts which never happened on the other birth control that I was on. I also found myself having a short temper which I do not know if it had anything to do with it. However I did find that I was not able to have any alcohol while on this medication because even the smallest amount would give me an upset stomach and would not feel better until I threw up.Read More Read Less

I was put on Tri-Lo Sprintec to control my periods and make them lighter. I've always had early periods (24 days apart instead of 28) but on Tri-Lo my periods are much lighter and less painful. I still get PMS symptoms of mood swings, hunger cravings, headaches, and backaches though. As a birth control, it's worked for me so far. I have never skipped a pill and I always take my pill roughly around the same time give or take one hour.

I had terrible itching on the back of my calves-would keep me up at night. I relied on my glasses more (my vision was worse), my periods were terrible and I would feel dizzy. Some occasions my shortness of breath also acted up. It wasn't until I went to an urgent care that the doctor confirmed the rash was from a reaction to medicine and not something from the outdoors or bugs. That narrowed it down and I quickly realized that the reason all these things would come in cycles was because it related to my pills and my period...i.e. tri-lo-sprintec. After going off it, it was within the first month that I felt better and stopped itching. Get off it and don't look back. I called my insurance company because I had a doctor's note to allow me to have access to the name brand and explaining all the side effects I had because of the generic...no budging. Needless to say, there are other generics that do not cause that reaction- keep looking!Read More Read Less

I've been using this for a little over a year now, I take it to regulate my period, which it has worked perfectly for that, I now have regular periods, however I does makes me bleed an awful lot during day 2 or 3, which it can be very uncomfortable, specially if you are at work or out and about. Also, it does gives me anxiety and makes me gag an awful lot, which it does sucks.

Insurance switched me to this after Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo because they no longer covered it and I would need to pay 200 for Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo. Maybe it's only my first month but it was terrible. I'm constantly feeling sick and constantly gagging and wanting to throw up for no reason at all, I also had a lot of chest pains. My period was also 2 weeks early. I'm livid because I was told this was the same as Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo but I never had these side effects with Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo so they are definitely not the same as I was told they were by the pharmacist and doctor. Stay away from this brand. Read More Read Less

I thought I was going crazy. I was extremely moody... pharmacists kept telling me sprintec and Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo was the exact same medication just different distributor. I disagree. I have gained 40 pounds in less than a year. Terrible anxiety which I've never had. Aches, pains, migraines, upset stomach, bloating, terrible cramps, swollen feet and legs, tiredness, achne, spotting, breast tenderness just to name a few side effects. The worst side affect overall has to be irritability. I'm constantly angry. I've been on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for over 10 years and have never had a problem. Insurance changed my prescription. I got home opened the pack and it was different I consulted my doctor she assured me it would be okay. I tried it for six months....life has been horrible. Switching back tomorrow. as i can see is that a lot of people have had a lot of problems with this pill, but i've never encountered headaches, nausea, or irritability. though personally i have just started taking birth control and have never been on ortho-tri-cyclen, so maybe i dont know the amazingness of ortho-tri-cyclen. But i would definitely recommend this pill.

Insist on the original Ortho tri cyclen. Normally, generic medication deosn't bother me, but the side effects with this drug were terrible. I had extreme nausea (vomited my dinner up a few times a week) and I experienced the headaches reported by others. ( I NEVER get headaches) I also noticed I was feeling more tired than usual. All these symptoms were odd to me and after a quick google search on the tri-lo-sprintec, I was appalled to find out how problematic this drug has been for others.

I was on Ortho tri-cyclen for 15 years when my mail order automatically ordered me a generic version, without my consent. (They apparently don't need to notify you of these changes.) This generic now costs $10 and my name brand costs $160! I tried Tri-Lo Sprintec and just finished my second pack with the following side affects (that I did not have with ortho-tri-cyclen lo): low libido, high blood pressure, body tension, bloating, and the most significant difference is constant irritability. On tri-lo-sprintec I'm irritable for 26 days a month verses 1-2 days with Ortho-tri-cyclen lo. I'm much more impatient with my students at work and with my husband. I'm worried about this drug's affect on my relationships and work experience. Even though they claim it's an equivelent, it doesn't feel the same to me at all! I'm very frustrated that insurance companies are making drug decisions for patients and restricting funds to force them to choose a a sub-par medication for cost reasons.Read More Read Less

I've been taking Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for years and loved it as my period stayed on schedule and was very light an shorter but recently in January 2016 got switched to Tri Lo. At first it was ok but on the first 2 months of taking the pill I had two periods each month. My periods are so much more irregular now taking Tri Lo that I just want to stop taking the pill altogether! Not a good experience at all!

This drug has been a nightmare for me from the beginning. I have been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for years with no problems and all of a sudden my mail order pharmacy switched me. My anxiety is off the charts, as is my weight, moodiness, sex drive, stomach cramps, headaches, restlessness, insomnia, you name it. I forced the pharmacy to switch me back and recommended they remove it from distribution. Thank you to all the others on here who helped me see I wasn't crazy.

I have been on Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo for years until my insurance switched me to Tri Lo Sprintec. I had no problems on Ortho. I only lasted one week on this pill due to horrible stomach pains and bloating. By day 6 I started getting a headache and nauseated. I contacted my doctor and she switched me back to Ortho. I'm not sure if the problem would have subsided with time but after reading so many terrible reviews I decided this pill probably wasn't right for me.

Finishing up my second month of this drug and for some reason, the past couple days I have been a wreck! I'm thinking it's because my period is coming but this is completely abnormal behavior for me. For no reason I feel like crying and just become overly sensitive for everything. After checking the other comments from other users, I feel better knowing I'm not going crazy and I need to switch from this pill!

I really loved tri-lo-sprintec and found this website searching whether it was still on the market. I used Othro Tricyclen Lo with good results, and when my pharmacy substituted it for Tri-lo I noticed no difference. When Ortho got more expensive and tri-lo went off the market, I started looking for cheaper alternatives. I'm now on a generic pill with the same level of estrogren but a different type of progestin and I hate it. This is why I started looking for the return of Tri-lo.

I am finishing up my 4th month on Tri-low Sprintec, and my skin is breaking out non stop, headaches all the time, and terrible bloating. I was on Orthro tri cycling lo, and never experienced any of these issues. The worst birth control out there! I would not recommend sprintec-lo to anyone!

My experience with the generic form of Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo was awful. In less than a month I was severely depressed, fatigued, sick, moody, and downright unpleasant. I couldn't do anything, and didn't want to do anything. Having no other medical conditions, or taking no other medicines, I looked it up. It's the medicine. From what I understand, pharmacies are no longer allowed to sell Tri-Lo Sprintec, but if they have extra, they can still give it to people. I have read many reviews from many women suffering the same problems. I've started the original drug, Ortho Tri-Cyclen, only a week in, and I feel incredible. This is the first time in a month I've been able to stay out of bed, and get something done.Read More Read Less
